Bianca Genevie Abello is a recent graduate from the University of Oregon majoring in public relations with a minor in sports business. While she was a college student on a budget, Bianca created Babble, a food and travel blog where she writes about her go-to eats.
After graduation, Bianca took on a role as the Student Success Services Coordinator at INTO Oregon State University working with international students and mentoring them with their non-academic needs, primarily focusing on housing and arrivals.
Bianca served as the PR Chair for the Oregon Athletic Bands Council (OABC) and held an administrative role for Student Orientation Programs (SOP). OABC has provided Bianca with skills such as social media management and content creation, allowing her to see her content on a video board at Autzen Stadium for a gameday audience of thousands.
Most of Bianca’s experience stems from her time with SOP. Being part of the student orientation staff, she introduced new students and their families to the resources that help create smooth transitions to the university. She also facilitated an identity-based workshop during orientation sessions. With her administrative role, she assisted with guest support within the Student Welcome Center, including during events such as IntroDUCKtion and Duck Days.
Last summer, Bianca was an intern at Edelman, a global communications firm with over 60+ offices worldwide. She was an influencer marketing intern in their San Francisco office. With Bianca’s graduation this past December, she hopes to obtain a career in the public relations industry related to her interests in social media management and influencer marketing.
